As we approach a most magical time of the year, we reflect on the joys and pleasures on what makes our lives as wonderful and filled with love as they are. Even with the challenges and unusual happenings of late, there are still incredible things to celebrate with loved ones. What better way to enjoy the holiday than by sharing your traditions with those you cherish – and the world!
There is a spectacular holiday of Icelandic Tradition and known as Jolabokaflod, which translates to “Christmas Book Flood.” To celebrate, you simple wrap up a new book and gift it to someone on Christmas Eve. Then, you spend the evening cozying up with loved ones and reading. Looking for some great books to give? Check out our store!
A new tradition I will be doing with my family was inspired by a Hallmark Christmas movie. There are scrolls of paper where everyone writes their greatest Christmas wish. After it is signed and tied with a ribbon, it is placed on the tree as an ornament. It is packed away until next year where, before we create a new one, we open all of the Christmas wishes from last year together to see if they came true. It’s beautiful to see!
I always love sharing and learning traditions. What are some of yours? Leave it in the comments below.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
