M.C. Grimm: A Poem – Character Development

A poem for skeptics and true-believers of fate, destiny, and love as depicted from a time traveler.

One comment

While asleep…
I don’t believe in destiny,
I don’t believe in fate,
I believe that I alone control,
The path my life does take.

I have developed understanding,
An education and career,
To believe in such a ‘secret’,
What a foolhardy idea.

Each day is mapped with purpose,
With production kept in mind,
And as days fall off the calendar,
Am I ‘investing’ of my time?

The sun arrives on time this morning,
And it comes with morning dew,
Something is different with the sunrise,
As it comes along with you.

And I have only just realized,
That too long I’ve been asleep,
For the depth of this emotion,
Dives an ocean deep.

All the things I thought I’d known,
And the things that I held true,
Led me up and down through happenings,
To guide me straight to you.

And so we are proof of destiny,
I know we are living fate,
For the the beauty that I live with you,
Only you and I could make.

With love,
M.C. Grimm
